$ 13 Million Budget Approved for Crestline Sanitation District

Budget Contains Over $7 Million in Capital Improvements

Crestline, CA - A $13.3 million budget has been approved for the operation of the Crestline Sanitation District for fiscal year 2009-10. The budget contains over $7 million for capital improvements.

Special Districts Director Jeff Rigney presented the budget for final approval by the board of supervisors June 23 following a public hearing on June 16.

The action by the supervisors also authorized the technical adjustment of budgets based upon the final fund balances of the district, as determined by the auditor/controller.

The final budget is in compliance with the GANN appropriations limits pursuant to Article XIII B of the state constitution. The GANN initiative was approved on November 6, 1979, by a whopping 74 percent of California voters as a way to limit government spending.

The budget was approved unanimously on the motion made by Supervisor Neil Derry and seconded by Supervisor Josie Gonzales.
