Update - Friday 3:50 a.m. Crestline, CA - The Sixth Annual Community Picnic will be offering plenty of fun, food and entertainment today, July 3, starting at about 11 a.m. at the ball fields at Lake Gregory Regional Park.
Entertainers include Steve the Praying Piper (10:45 a.m.), Reggie Bannister Band (11 a.m.), John & Sally McGill (12:15 p.m.), Vicki Lynn (1:15 p.m.), Magic Show (2 p.m.), Steve Bunton (2:15 p.m.), String Quartet (3:15 p.m.) and Flight to Heaven (4 p.m.).
Three-legged races are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. with the opening ceremonies set to begin at noon. Sack races will be run starting at 12:30 p.m. with cake walks every 10 minutes beginning at 12:45 p.m. ![]() The Sixth Annual Community Picnic, being staged today at the Lake Gregory Ball Fields, offers games and activities for kids of all ages. At 1 p.m., the kids pie eating contest begins following 30-minutes later by a teen pie eating contest. The balloon toss will take place at 1:45 p.m., the adult pie eating contest at 2 p.m. and running relay races at 2:15 p.m.
The entire event concludes at 5 p.m.
Original Story Crestline, CA – The Sixth Annual Old Fashioned Community Picnic is being staged tomorrow, July 3, at the Lake Gregory Ball Field complete with plenty of fun, food, games and entertainment. The event starts at 11 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. Admission is free.

The Rim of the World Historical Society and the Lake Gregory Yacht Club are sponsoring the annual event that offers a wide variety of games for only 25 cents with each child guaranteed to win a prize.
Local groups will provide entertainment and organizers (Doe and Jim Huff) plan to stage watermelon and pie-eating contests along with other traditional games designed for the entire family.

The baseball field will be covered with game booths staffed by various community organizations and there will be plenty of food and craft vendors.
Families are also invited to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy sitting on the grass and enjoy the fun on the shores of Lake Gregory. This article was first published on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at 3:32 pm.
