Two DUI Arrests at CHP Checkpoint (Update)Conducted On Highway 138 Near Silverwood Lake By Michael P. During the operation of the checkpoint, officers evaluated 15 drivers for possible DUI violations, impounded two vehicles for driver's license violations, and issued 20 citations for various misdemeanors and infractions.

//Original Story Running Springs, CA - The California Highway Patrol will be conducting a sobriety/license checkpoint today, July 3. The checkpoint will be at an undisclosed location in the unincorporated mountain area. The Arrowhead office of the CHP is conducting the checkpoint to ensure the safe passage of each and every motorist. A sobriety checkpoint is a proven effective tool for achieving the goal and is designated to augment existing patrol operations.

The objective of the CHP office in Running Springs is to send a clear message to those considering mixing alcohol and/or drugs with driving. The CHP will be keeping a close eye out for impaired drivers.

His first job out of San Jose State was with the Associated Press in Los Angeles as overnight Radio Editor.
