What's Your Street Address?By Dave Henderson RIMOFTHEWORLD.net has joined local emergency responders to highlight the need for residents to ensure that your street address is properly displayed.
Fire and Law Enforcement officials point out that precious time is often lost during 911 calls because the residence address is not properly displayed on the home. The 911 system provides a street address to responders to emergency calls, however when an address is not displayed, responders are often forced to go door to door to find the correct address. In an emergency, this time can be the difference between life and death.
Fire and Sheriff Department officials stress the need to have your address displayed in view of the street as the home would be approached from either street direction. The street address should be displayed using at least three-inch numbers and lighting is recommended. Numbering is available at most any hardware or home center.
