Motorcyclist Severely Injured in Big Bear AccidentPatient Flown to Loma Linda University Medical Center By G.T. Houts Big Bear City, CA - The Sheriff's Department's Major Accident Investigation Team is reviewing the events that led to severe injuries to a Big Bear City motorcyclist.
The accident, that occurred on Big Bear Boulevard about 4:15 p.m. yesterday, caused 25-year-old James Dunigan to suffer major injuries requiring him to be airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
The initial investigation shows Dunigan was driving his 2003 Yamaha motorcycle east on Big Bear Boulevard approaching China Garden Road at the time of the accident.
The Big Bear Sheriff's Department reports a pick-up truck driven by 35-year-old David Russell apparently turned left into Dunigan's path. The motorcycle struck the front of the pick-up truck. Russell was not injured in the crash, according to police reports.
