Big Bear Man To Be Sentenced Today For AssaultVictims Were Two Unidentified Men By G.T. Houts San Bernardino, CA – An 18-year-old Big Bear Lake man will be sentenced today at 8:38 a.m., in San Bernardino Superior Court, for the beating of two unidentified men on June 18. This incident occurred in the 700 block of Knickerbocker Avenue.
Mark Anthony Potts was convicted October 29 on for assault with a deadly weapon (not a firearm). The incident occurred in the same location where two additional men allegedly killed 20-year-old Michael Aaron Lundin over loud music from a car stereo, according to law enforcement records.
Sugarloaf resident Christopher Michael Day, 18, and Chalen Wesley Winters, 19, are charged with the fatal beating of Lundin. They will appear Tuesday, December 2 at 8:38 a.m., in Department S-23, for a disposition-reset hearing.
David Alexander Ferguson, 19, will also appear in Department S-23 tomorrow for a disposition-reset hearing. He is accused of being involved in the incident that led to Potts' plea bargain on assault with a deadly weapon. Ferguson faces identical charges.

"On June 18," Sheriff's Department spokesperson Tiffany Swantek reported, "Potts and Day came to the Big Bear Station to talk with investigators about the murder investigation. It was determined Potts and Day assaulted the two subjects during the altercation on Knickerbocker. As a result Potts and Day were arrested and booked into the Big Bear Jail."
The initial police response to the 10:33 p.m. incident on June 18 followed a medical aid call for a man down near Knickerbocker Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue.
