Take Time to Give the Gift of Life
By Michael P. Neufeld
Tuesday, July 8, 2008
Big Bear Lake, CA – The Blood Bank of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties will be conducting a blood drive at the Southwest Gas building (40844 Big Bear Boulevard) from noon to 4:30 p.m. June 8.
Donors receive a free mini-physical as part of the hour-long donation process. The event is co-sponsored by Pine Knot Landing and IHOP.

A Blood Drive will be conducted TODAY at Southwest Gas (40844 Big Bear Boulevard) in Big Bear Lake, Gift of Life donors may stop in between noon and 4:30 p.m. (Photo by Michael P. Neufeld.)
Please consider taking some time TODAY to donate blood. A few minutes of your time can save the lives of five people. One pint of donated blood can be separated into several components (red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma, platelets and cryoprecipitate) to meet the needs of various patients. For example, platelets give those with leukemia and other cancers a chance to live, while red cells help accident victims get well.
Anyone between the ages of 17 and 75 who weighs at least 110 pounds can donate blood.
Donate blood now and Give the Gift of Life.
