The Chamber staged their Candidate Forum at 5 p.m. Wednesday. This forum was held at the Big Bear Area Regional Wastewater Agency Board Room (121 Palomino Drive – Big Bear City), and will feature candidates for the Big Bear City Community Services District, Bear Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees and the Big Bear Airport District.

All candidates were invited to participate by the Chamber. However, some had previous commitments and will be unable to attend.

Big Bear Community Services District candidates invited to participate next Wednesday include: community relations specialist Barbara Beck; business owner/engineer Daniel Joseph Brown; incumbent/retired peace officer Robert Colven; business owner Rick Nelson; incumbent Rick Ollila, and facilities director John Russo.

The seven candidates, seeking three seats on the Bear Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees, include: retired educator Sharon Congdon; retired educator David Foltz; retired educator Beverly Grabe; retired volunteer coordinator Jim "Mac" McGowan; business owner Randall Putz; retired police officer Richard Weathersbee; and business owner/parent Paul Zamoyta.

Big Bear Airport District candidates that are vying for the three seats are: business owner Ken Dally; retired manager Bill Douglas; retired aviation employee Gloria Ann Greene; plumbing contractor Chuck Knight; educator Julie Smith; lodge owner/engineer Edward Stanik; appointed incumbent Gary Stube, and retired businessman Lynn Wilson.
