Big Bear City, CA – A public information meeting was held by Caltrans August 20 at 6 p.m. to address a Highway 18 (Big Bear Boulevard) safety-widening project from Blue Water Drive to Pinon Drive.

The informational session will be held at the Big Bear Area Regional Wastewater Agency (BBARWA) complex at 121 Palomino Drive in Big Bear City.

The safety project includes widening the existing roadway, re-striping the intersection to allow installation of a left-turn lane at the intersection of Highway 18 and Big Tree Drive, and to install 8-foot paved shoulders on the north side of Big Bear Boulevard.

A Caltrans spokesperson urged residents in the area of the roadwork to participate in tonight's meeting and to offer suggestions and/or comments about the safety-widening work.

Caltrans employees will present newly updated information regarding the project and will answer questions.

Information will be posted on the Caltrans District 8 website at http://www.caltrans8.info for those who cannot attend the meeting.
