Highway 330 Reopens Following Accident (Update)

By Michael P. Neufeld
Tuesday, July 22, 2008

View Alert

Update — Tuesday 1:45 p.m.

Running Springs, CA — Highway 330 has been reopened after about a 90 minute closure following a traffic accident involving an overturned truck and a double set of trailers near the middle passing lanes.

Traffic was allowed to pass the accident on the shoulder of the road until approximately noon before the highway was fully closed. The closure was necessary to upright the truck and trailers, one of which was loaded with limestone, and to allow Caltrans time to sweep the highway.

Original Story 12:17 p.m.

Running Springs, CA — Caltrans and the California Highway Patrol closed Highway 330 shortly after noon today due to a traffic accident near the middle passing lanes. The roadway is expected to be closed for up to 90 minutes.

At 10:20 a.m., a big rig with a set of doubles was reported on its side blocking both lanes of traffic. At one point, the driver was helping direct traffic on the shoulder of the roadway.

The rear trailer is loaded with limestone and efforts to upright the trailer prompted the closure of the roadway.
