"We're very touched and grateful by the show of support for this event," organizers told RIMOFTHEWORLD.net, "and we know it will continue until the event is over. This just reinforces our feelings of how this mountain looks out for its family, be they people or pets."

Original Story

Skyforest, CA – The Pet Squad will be staging a Mountain Pets Rummage Sale on Saturday, May 17 at the corner of Highway 18 and Kuffel Canyon Road in Skyforest and the group is now collecting items for the sale.

Proceeds from the sale, which is set to begin at 8 a.m. in the parking lot of the New Life Chiropractic building, will be utilized to assist mountain residents who face pet emergencies and support The Bear Fund (through Arrowhead Animal Hospital in Blue Jay) and the Mountain s Humane Society."

A spokesperson for The Pet Squad told RIMOFTHEWORLD.net the group is hopeful the sale will raise additional monies and maybe even roll over to Sunday, May 18, if enough items are donated.

"There are a lot of people on the mountain," the spokesperson added, "who can't afford to pay for medical expenses when their pets get sick or face surgery. We're just trying to be good neighbors and make sure they have the assistance they need to take care of their animals."
