Quarry Fire Near Fawnskin Doused (Update)Firefighters Quickly Contain Fire By Michael P. Neufeld Update — Wednesday 5:07 a.m. Fawnskin, CA — A vegetation fire near Fawnskin yesterday was quickly extinguished by firefighters.
The Quarry Fire was knocked down after consuming 3-4 acres in the area of the Butterfield Quarry.

Original SAtory Fawnskin, CA – A smoke check in the area of the Butterfield Quarry resulted in firefighters responding to a small vegetation fire north of Fawnskin this afternoon.
The Quarry Fire has reportedly consumed about 3-4 acres in the vicinity of Bertha Peak with air supporting using Big Bear Lake as a water resource to knock down the fire.
At about 2:15 p.m., the incident commander cancelled additional incoming resources but asked the water tenders to continue for mop-up. Tankers that were on hold at the San Bernardino Tanker Base were also released.
