School Bus Involved in Minor Accident (Update 2)

One Party Transported to Loma Linda

Update 2 — Tuesday 4:55 a.m.

Running Springs, CA — The California Highway Patrol responded to a school bus accident on Highway 330 near Live Oak Drive yesterday in foggy conditions. One person was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center.

The accident is still under investigation but the bus and a Dodge van collided resulting in a possible broken collarbone to one party. It was not immediately clear whether the injured person was in the van or the bus.

Highway 330 was closed for a short time during the investigation. The incident was reported at 2:37 p.m. and the roadway was reopened at 3:54 p.m.

Update — 3:55 p.m.

Running Springs, CA – The down bound lane of Highway 330 has been reopened. The injured passenger was transported to Loma Linda Univeristy Medical Center.

Running Springs, CA – The California Highway Patrol reports a school bus has been involved in an accident on Highway 330 near Live Oak Drive and children are onboard the bus.

The accident was reported at 2:37 p.m. and the bus was traveling in foggy conditions when it apparently was struck by a Dodge van. The accident is blocking down bound traffic lanes.

Caltrans has just closed Highway 330 at the Highway 18 Interchange.

Scanner transmissions have disclosed that one passenger, not sure if it was a student or from the van, had a possible broken left shoulder and the bus driver was complaining of pain.

A Rim of the World Unified School District mechanic is on scene according to CHP transmissions.

CHP officers on scene have asked for two expedited tow trucks.
