Tuesday, May 13, 2008
Barton Flats – A single vehicle accident on Highway 38 in the Barton Flats area at 4:13 p.m. resulted in a male victim being extracted from the vehicle and Air Rescue 6 landed at the Visitor Center to transport the man to an area hospital.
An off-duty firefighter and a Sheriff's deputy assisted with the extrication of the man and the patient was complaining of chest pain that was getting progressively worse, according to scanner transmissions.
A unit from Station 49 in Fawnskin transported the victim to the landing zone that briefly closed Highway 38. Scanner reports indicate the patient will be transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment.
