CHP Officer Jennifer Reneu made a traffic stop on the suspect for speeding. Immediately after the stop, a witness alleged that the suspect threw a lit object from the vehicle. The witness, along with fire investigators, returned to Highway 18 to find any evidence. Meanwhile, the suspect is being held for failure to provide a driver's license and proof of insurance, according to CHP Officer Wally Wood.

There are very strong gusty winds from Rancho Cucamonga east to about the 215. East of the 215, the winds are almost nonexistent.
