Vegetation Fire Near Crestline Under Investigation (Update 2)By News Team Update — Wednesday 5:10 a.m. Crestline, CA - The US Forest Service is investigating the cause of a fire on Pine Ridge and Mile High Roads yesterday that burned about a quarter acre.
Officials are also investigating the Monument Fire that was spotted Monday afternoon near Monument Peak.
Update — 11:25 a.m. Crestline, CA — Emergency personnel now have a wet line around a quarter acre fire burning north of Lake Gregory on Pine Ridge and Mile High Roads. The incident commander has canceled additional resources.
There were reports of a second fire in the 600 block of Chateau Drive. However, it appears to have been drift smoke from the "Mile Fire".
Helicopter 534 was released and returned to Heaps Peak Helibase at 11:20 a.m.
