I have a Guinea Pig that I need to find a home for. She is a year old. She is very cute but is a little fiesty. My boys bought it a year ago with their own money and have not spent the needed amount of time with it.

Please think twice about getting pets for young kids unless you are going to be the caretaker.. these types of pets are consistently neglected when children grow tired of them.

My post is from one mom to another & I just want you to be able to keep your pet. Isn't there any way that you could take away a privalege that the boys have, instead of getting rid of the piggie? I mean they did buy this pet with their own money & they need to learn that pets are not disposable commodities. I have 2 water turltes that I'm fostering becasue of this very same reason. Kids, no matter what age need to learn the importance of responsibility & taking care of the things that they buy or a purchased for them.

Either way, I do hope you find a good forever home for your piggie.

Good advice DD- I was just thinking recently how good your little boy is with the animals- he will grow up being a huge animal lover just like his "mama" Good Job!!

I should have worded me original post different. It doesn't have to go anywhere. It has a home. I was looking for a family that could give it more attention that we are. It is not neglected by any means. Roxie's home is in our living room where we are all the time. Roxy has bitten and now by kids are scared to handle her. I am hoping I can find a family that could work with that, instead of her not being handled at all.

Some small animals don't like being handled.. all 3 of my bunnies would prefer to curl up with me as long as I'm not picking them up..Since they are prey animals, they associate being picked up with being carried away to be killed. That is why she may have bitten them. I hope you find her a home where she is loved.

If it helps any, I still have all my guinea pig stuff I would donate to whoever takes him. Mine died a couple months ago. I have a large (6' x 4') open guinea pig habitat and all of his houses, tubes, tunnels, feed bins and water stuff.
