We have recently made some changes in the classified ad system. As some of you have already discovered many of the basic classified ads are now free. This is all part of an effort to adapt more of a Craigs-List business model in the classifieds.

The non commercial ads are free and the only fee will be when you want enhanced features like photos, placement stars, web URL addresses and so on. We have also added less expensive options in the banner advertising so that there are options for most any budget. There are also free listings in the Directory for businesses.

One of the other reasons for this is to end advertising in the message boards. Many of you have spoken loud and clear that advertising in the threads is unwelcome, you have asked us to end this. So at your request we will be ending the practice of allowing advertising in the threads even if an ad has been purchased. We will be deleting those threads and pointing the poster to this thread as to the reason.

You are welcome to recommend a business to others seeking advice, But please keep it advice and not advertising. If it looks like an ad we will be forced to delete it. Please use one of our advertising options instead of the message boards.
