Just curious - who will be available over the holiday weekends to man the scanners? {"Weekends" since the 4th is on a Wednesday.}

I will be here, praying for quiet scanners and no sirens.

The 7 day forecast is a little worrisome - "There will be a high risk for large fire over the valleys and foothills on Tuesday {the 3rd} due to well above normal temperatures and very low humidity. There will also be a high risk for large fire over the mountains and deserts of Southern California on Tuesday due to dry lightning."

Nobody mans the scanner like you, Vicki!

Thank you - not true, but thanks.

However I am just one person. I'm hoping those that have helped in the incidents log in the past are available to do so again - and would welcome any newcomers to pitch in and help! Even if you post here instead of in the alerts log - anything would be helpful!! The only thing I ask, and this is coming from me alone, is that you do not speculate while you're posting scanner traffic. Please start another thread for chatter, conjecture, and speculation.

Also please do not post identifying information {names, phone numbers, exact addresses, etc}.

Vicki -

I will try to carry my scanner and jump in if things heat up (no pun intended). Might be DTH off and on, but I'll do what I can to help!

I've helped a bit in the past and due to an injury that will keep me in the house, I'll be available through the holiday. The scanner is on here... Let's hope for a no incident holiday!
Keep us pumped Vicki!

Thanks diamond!

NancyR - ok... I understand. But if you do happen to listen to the scanners and hear something we don't, please try to control yourself long enough to give us a heads up.

Hey Vicky, I'll be around all week, will do what I can to help out 'over here' on Rim, and post the Big Bear stuff.

My fondest hope is that none of us have to post anything.

And yes, I still believe in Santa Claus, too...
