Maybe it's too soon to think about skiing, but as I sit here in sweats and slippers, I am so glad that we moved to Forest Falls. My trip to Big bear for skiing is now 30 minutes shorter than before!!! I can't wait for snow!

Kandi, it is NEVER too early to think about skiing! I think about it 365 days a year and often wonder if there is somewhere you can ski all year 'round.

You guys (non-gender term you understand) are SO LATE. I've already waxed my boards TWICE.

It's not too early, did you see the news report that some parts of the Sierra Nevada got rain, hail, and some snow yesterday (or was it the day before yesterday)!

I run the Ski Club at Beattie Middle School (in Highland) So I get to bring up 150 Middleschoolers for 6 Fridays straight. This year, I finally bought my own skis (i usually get free rentals) I am soooo excited. The best deals to be had are buying last years models from the rental shops. In fact, I bought a pair of demos and the boots...Funny thing about the demo boots, each pair only goes out a few times per season. I got $2000 skis for $300. You tend to get the best deals on that stuff from the small shops in Big Bear. If you can find one open, they may still have some of last years stock. Also, season passes are still at low rates Until Nov. when people start buying them as Christmas gifts. http://www.bigbearmountainresorts.com/winterpasses.php
There you go. Is there such a thing as a "snow dance"?

Yep. Mammoth opens next week. I can't wait. Yippee! However, I'm taking the other toys (Bike, climbing and fishing gear) just in case. Either way, it's going to be a great weekend!
