First: A huge THANK YOU to all the dedicated men and women of
law enforcement!
Second: I think it's wonderful that someone took the time to
post a "thank you" in the Sheriff thread.......
Third: Why do the threads "complaining" about law enforcement
fill up so quickly?
Take the time to say "thank you" for a job well done. I would hate to think what our cities would be like without them.....

DITTO - this is a job much like teachers - they don't do it for the pay - and I think the ladies and gentlemen who protect our mountain deserve our appreciation and thanks.

We love our firemen and our law enforcement peeps. They know it - they know they are appreciated. And I am speaking of these men and woman all over our country, not just on the mountain. Many thanks to you folks. I am glad my husband is neither one. We admire your families as well.

Cynthia you are a waste of space..... You and your woe is me attitude. Everybody feel sorry for me......SCREW YOU!!! When my husband goes to work I pray he comes home to me and our child safely. If the medics hadn't responded to your house if you were blue you would be dead. What did they do, look at you, see that your blue, pack up and leave? YEAH RIGHT!!! I have worked in the field far to long to believe that B.S. Tell the whole story! I am so angry at you I cant even put it into words right now! Give me a few hgours, I will be back, calmer, and able to express my feelings to you!

Okay, so I just re-read the post, and your saying the S.O. didn't do CPR. My feelings for you still haven't changed! What kind of past do you have with the police? Do you have many run in's with them, are you a leech on society? There is always more to every story then meets the eye, and I am sure there is MUCH more to your story!!!!

I will not even address Cynthia's comments, because as Juniper says, there's more than likely a whole other side to her story that is being left unsaid.
I do not personally know any police or sheriffs. I do know firefighters, paramedics and the like. I appreciate all of them-and am grateful for their continued service to the citizens' of this town and every other town in this nation.
I saw many signs thanking the firefighters last year, but where were the signs thanking the law enforcement?
I have witnessed many police/sheriffs getting yelled at for senseless things-such as when they would park up at CHE to monitor parking and hand out tickets. Now they are not there, and people park every where, no matter that it is illegal to do so. I saw one woman go over to a sheriff's car with her child, telling him she saw no sense in him being there, that it was a waste of taxpayer's money. What kind of example is this to set for an impressionable child? Not a good one.
Mommy5150-I assume from your post that your husband is in law enforcement. Please thank him for me, will you? And all the others who are in law enforcement, thank you. I am grateful.

I will however say this to Cynthia-perhaps your daughter should have cut her hair long ago and donated it to Locks of Love? Most of those children don't even have enough hair to have it shoulder length.

Thank you Binksmom,,you have no idea how much that means to me.Yes my husband is with the sheriffs dep.has been for 9 years now. Before that he served in the army for 10 years.A year of that was in Bosnia,,remember back in I think 95 when all that stuff was going on over there.Anyhow,,I worry about him ,,but I try not to do it alot,,I leave it up to the Lord & pray alot. Thanks again!

You're very welcome, mommy5150.
To paraphrase Cynthia's post:
Thank you, officer, for understanding my fear as a young child when a drunk driver hit our car on the way to church one morning, many years ago. Thank you for calming me down because I was scared. Thank you for finding my mom's glasses in the wreckage. Thank you for playing tic tac toe with me while we were waiting for the ambulance.
Thank you, officers, for explaining to me about the crash that killed a beautiful 7 year old child and not sugar coating it for me. Thank you for coming to her funeral and crying with us, sirs. Thank you for sitting by me in court and sharing my grief and upset.
Thank you, officers, for always responding to my 911 calls about an abusive situation. Thank you for removing him from my life.
Thank you, officers, for waving at my little girl and all the other children that wave at you as you go by.
Thank you, officers, for directing traffic when there's a wreck or obstruction in our roadways.
Thank you, officers, for putting your lives on the line each and every day.
Thank you.
