The above manufacturer is featured in the February issue of "Country Living." Even though their plant is in Florida, they have builder/contractors who can assemble them in Southern California, according to their site.

These are different from the mobilehome-looking ones most of us have seen. They come in sections that are either placed next to each other or stacked on top of each other by using a crane to lift them onto the foundation. Because of the way they are constructed, they can be configured in different ways.
Finishing is done on site by the contractor.

The fact that a crane is used to put them in place might actually make them a feasible rebuilding alternative in Cedar Glen. The website gives you some pictures (I thought the Roanoake would look great in the mountains, but it turned out to be the only one not available in Calif.) but you really have to check out the magazine to get the full idea.
