I could live on 15 bean soup! (Once again I have posted this one before)

15 Bean Soup (recipe on the bag)
It always ceases to amaze me how good something can be that cost only over $2. and comes in a bag.

Make up a box of .69 cent jiffy corn bread (or maybe two) and a salad, how much is a head of lettuce, $1.00? Maybe a side of veggies, $2.00 at the most. (Don't forget beans are a vegetable too). Total cost around $6.00 and this could feed a family of 5. You can also add some chopped ham to the beans if you'd like.

Don't forget, up here in the mountains you have to soak your beans longer to get them tender. I start mine in the morning and leave them soak all day and over night then start them cooking early the next day. Also I have found their even better if cooked longer then the package says, just be sure to keep adding hot water if need be or they will turn from soup to paste!

p.s. The package calls for tomatoes but I don't use them, I do add chopped celery when I add the onion!

I like meat in my soup though..

Coyote soup:
Coyote Hind quarter
Cooking oil
2 cups red wine
3 onions, chopped
1 garlic clove
Salt and pepper
Spices
2 cabbage heads, chopped
8 potatoes, chopped

Instructions : Cut meat into chunks and brown in oil. Add wine, onions, garlic, salt and pepper and your other favorite spices. Cook for 30 minutes. Add cabbage and potatoes. Cook until tender. Serve with hot biscuits or corn bread.

Rocket- I love the crockpot! Best invention ever!!!

On a different note, we just had chicken Marsala with garlic mashed potaotes. The chicken was pretty good, the potatoes were excellent, but I would like to try a different marsala recipe... Anybody have a recipe for excellent marsala? I LOVE the marsala they make at the cottage. Their sauce is by far my favorite.....
