I concur with papajoe. Rock and Roll sushi really sucks. This is a very poor excuse for a sushi bar. It is obvious that the owners do not care about quality nor their customers. With that said, why give them your money? I have heard the place down by silverwood lake, on 138, is pretty good.

I cannot comment on Rock and Roll Sushi, as I haven't been there, but Silverwood Ranch is excellent.

Rock N Roll Sushi is just a big joke. It's the bar that keeps them going for now. Two experiences now, and both were bad. Slooooooow service and wrong orders. The server had the nerve to tell us that we ate something what we didn't even order, and she wanted to charge us for it! Jeeeeze folks, get it together. I guess the monopoly that Poo is trying to create is backfiring hun. Never trust a caucasian person making you Sushi!!! It's a Japanese art, an Asian art, not a white person art! I'm off to the Cottage! Tee Hee

God Bless

Never trust a caucasian

Ski- You are right...There are a few caucasians of whom I distrust. Motivations and all.

There is an excellant Mexican sushi chef at Sayakas, btw.

Did you speak with a manager about your problems, or did you just wait to get home to bitch anonymously from your computer and feel better about yourselves? So much for helping us help you...

What are you guys talking about?!!! That sushi is so fresh and I love it all...they just opened give the chefs a chance...I think they are absolutly wonderful and the service is a little slow but they are all so attentive and nice...give it time, they will get it together...

at lease I hope so anyway...I love sushi...

You guys are a little on the mean side, please dont attack me for saying this...just give a new resturant a chance jeez, at lease its not another Mexican or Italian place...we have plenty of those...it's nice to have something different.

Iv'e been at Rock and Sushi 3 times, and beside the slow service and one mistake on my bill, all around the place was great and the fish was fresh...besides maybe it's a white person owning it but she was smart enough getting an Japanese woman running the damn thing and I have seen her on these employees asses like crazy...You watch this place will stay...and they will get it together...give it a chance

The owner is white? I met her, she looked asian to me... besides.. What does race have to do with it anyhow??

LOL

So far I'm pretty much a neophyte on Sushi but best chef I've tried was a young man who couldn't have been older than 25, white, with a deep southern drawl. He was apprenticing to the master chef who stood back and was justifiably proud of his protege.

BTW, thanks on all the recommendations on good places to try. Can't wait!

.

These days I don't dine out much but it sounds like several posters here are willing to "waste" their outings by giving second chances to a place that they have a bad experience with.

How many chances would you give a dentist, car mechanic or any other service person?

I can forgive and forget just like the next guy and I haven't tried R&R Sushi but with all the negative posting here I think I'm gonna stick with tried and true, Ocean Blue in Redlands, nice joint.

I haven't tried them yet, but haven't written them off. Sounds like they're trying and things are sorting themselves out. But I'm not spending the money until I know that it'll be worth it.

It was one of R.A. Heinlein's characters that said something to the affect of never be the first to try something new. Wait and let someone else try it and see if they live.

spanishcelt, all sushi is fresh when it is frozen then thawed. But freezing sushi ruins the flavor.
R&R sushi does not serve what they say they are serving. They either dont know or they are lying to their customers.
If the truth is mean then so be it.
Why couldn't they just do it correctly? They are just there to make money and not provide good service or good food. Run them out of business and perhaps we will get a real sushi bar.

Like the staff said in an earlier thread, the Village made Rock and Roll Sushi open before they were ready--not trained, not enough staff. I went there for our 3rd anniverary, the food was great. Especially the udon soup and lobster roll. It did take a few hours for dinner. It also took 25 minutes to get a drink from the bar. The staff was gracious. It is not their fault as they have said before. Yes, they need another bartender, yes they needed more sushi chefs. I don't care what color anyone is, that is not the point. The owner did buy us some sake for our anniversary, and apologised for the understaffing profusely. So did the rest of the staff. Everyone there had a good time, I knew most of the customers from other restaurants. We all loved the food. It's a chain restaurant so are recipies to be followed, it does not have to be a sushi chef. The chefs there are great, we all thought.
