If you are willing to go up to Big Bear to see a flick, it is definately worth the time. The Village Theaters (two buildings, one on Village Dr. next to Jack In The Box and the other just down the street on Pine Knot Avenue) have five screens. Occasionally they host special screenings, like the canned food drive screening of the original Rocky that they had last Thursday. Admission was only $1 or one can of food. They did that last year with Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith. They also have a Tuesday night discount (reminicent of the one that the old Crestline Village Theater used to do). And every fall they have 50 cent matinees on the weekend where they show some of the big movies of the previous summer for only 50 cent admission. Another thing is that they sometimes play movies that the Blue Jay Cinema misses, so you do not have to go to San Bernardino to see films that are not playing in Blue Jay. Their website is www.villagetheaters.com or you can call 866-5115 for showtimes.
