Bullwinkle - I am wondering how you are doing? I know that you have made some serious life changes and your MS has improved so much. I think it would be helpful to ROTW if you would post your success. I am so proud of you. How was the BB MS walk/run?

Hi Coral, Thanks for asking! I'm doing fantastic! Sorry it took me so long to answer. I've been walking alot and haven't been on the computer. Last year I had to go off many of my medications and infusions that were keeping me going and keeping my Multiple Sclerosis suppressed. As soon as I discontinued the meds, the MS hit with a vengeance and I went downhill quickly. After 5 months of this, I went to see an Ayurvedic doctor in Chatsworth. He put me on a strict diet and herbs and my life changed totally! It's a life style more than a diet and very easy to follow using everyday foods, not specialty foods. I did have to give up a lot of my favorite foods, but when I saw the results, it was worth the sacrifice. I went from barely able to make it through Costco (a real bummer)to walking a half marathon four months later! Plus I've lost over 35 pounds!

Last week I did a 7 mile hike along the Pacific Crest Trail in Big Bear. Two days before I hiked down to Lost Ranch for a total of 6.5 miles and hiked out in an hour and five minutes!! I didn't think I did it that fast, but when a four foot rattlesnake scurried across the road in front of me that kind of got my momentum going (along with my heart rate)! This month I've walked and hiked about 48 miles! I've done the Children's Exploration Trail up and back for a total of 9 miles! I'm also using Nordic Walking Poles which really help keep my posture straight, plus uses more calories and helps me up the hills!

I'm in training for the 2008 MS Challenge Walk in September~3 days, 50 miles from Carlsbad to San Diego! If anyone would like to sponsor me, just go to my webpage https://www.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ieve...

I didn't do the BB MS mini walk, I was on a team that did the Inland Empire walk and we had a great time!

If anyone has any questions concerning the diet, MS (I am also the leader of the MS Self Help Support Group for the Mountain area) etc, either email me at BullwinkleROTW@hotmail.com or leave a message here. I promise to check it more often!

Coral, how are you feeling?
