However, it is not enough to be an armchair patriot and simply waiving your flag cheering "hoorray for freedom". Our freedoms get tested everytime someone has an unpopular message to convey. And if you really want to find out where your freedom stands, then get out an conduct a protest, demonstration, rally, or petition drive for an unpopular cause, this will truly show the level of freedom. My common law ex wife had a mom who bore a child while standing in line for the gas chambers at krakow. In many many conversations with her, she drew many paralells between the rush to patriotism and actions of Bush over the past 8 years to that of the buildup of the nazis.
