How do you actually figure out how much a rebuild is worth? I imagine many of us who have rebuilt have gone over the original square footage. Even though we rebuilt recently, I don't know if it's wise to insure it for the cost it would take to rebuild it at this point or for the price it would sell for on the market. Of course, with the economy being what it is, I'm not sure if there's much difference nowdays.

BTW, we're still waiting for our final tax bill from the County. I hate to even think about it.

I just looked at the GVL site and they say it's running about $225 per square foot. Wow. That means it probably should be insured for around $294,000.

And who knows how high it will go in the future. Glad you have good insurance, Carol.
