Yuk... I opened my mailbox, and wham, they still want their $621.36 ... I even paid for some of it, and they didn't even give me a credit. Another hassle I am sure. This time its due by May 30th..

Carol, I hope all is well... Nice seeing you the other day. I saw your hubby out there last week.. Hope all is well. Someone drove by my home last week on a dirt bike from the boards here, and said hi, but my other half forgot their name. Whomever it was. Stop by and say hi again. I will make sure I get out there. Still working on getting the cabin together.

I also got a bill. It is for a 5/8" meter connection. The bill is for $248.52. It is for the same amount as last year 8/10/2007 without the PUC SC tax of $3.48 for a total last year of $252.00. It does state "2008 Charges Due: $248.52.
On last years bill I paid $42.00 four times (bi-monthly) for a total paid of $168.00. This current statement does not mention anything about past due amounts. Nor does it give a time period of which the bill covers. Monday I will be calling to find out what is going on with this.

Yea, mine is for a 1" meter. Which sucks. I did bring up my cancelled check for the payment I did make last year. I am not paying anything, until I find out whats going on. It sounded to me, this new bill is for 2007 & 2008 , and that they re-instated the surcharge. Heck, I don't even know who owns it anymore. Did escrow close? I will be calling tomorrow as well. Its always something with them.. Heck , I sure hope its not $621 per year. Heck the water fee alone is $50.00 a month with your regular bill.

It's NOT fun getting these notices again. When we got home Sunday, all I could do is go into shock when I found these things in the stack of mail. Just what we need, along with the price of gas going up as well as just about everything else.
I'm not suprised either that they show no credit for past payments. I was suprised to see a new receiver, which indicates to me that escrow still hasn't closed.

BTW, Jeff and I put the Tiny Cabin on the market yesterday with Mountain Country Realty---this time for $110,000. It will probably be the lowest listing. With Jeff's hours being cut, I want to try to be proactive with our finances. We hate to see it go for that low but hopefully that will motivate someone to buy it.

I take that back about a new receiver---the signature was from someone in the district.

Carol, sorry to hear about Jeff's hour being cut... It is a struggle for us as well, and I am sure a lot of people. I found a outdoor storage box made out of wood to bring to the cabin this weekend. Well, it was a good price, but I had to bring up the SUV to get it to the cabin. Well. That sale price wasn't that great after all. It cost me $80.00 in gas to get it up there. 9 miles to the gallon. Between the gas, and the food prices, and now the water bill again.Its rough. I called the Water company this morning, no one there yet.

Also good luck on your tiny cabin. $110,000 is a great price and its a sharp looker.. Let us all know when it sells..

Coral, I did write a few letters last year, to numerous addresses that were posted on here. Never heard a thing back. It was like I never existed...

Well, I got a hold of Jennifer at the water company. These are new 2008 charges... Not from the 2007 charges... I told her that I paid a portion of the 2007 charges, and wondered if that credit should go towards this bill. She said no. So I asked about the 2007 charges, and she says that they are not pursueing the 2007 charges at this time. So for anyone that paid anything on the 2007 charges, might have been a waste. Well. I guess I will file this one under unpaid, until they know what they are doing. Glad I only paid $100.00 on the 2007 one. Well, thats the info. Anyone gets a better statement. Let me know.

Wesley if you read back a few threads their is a bill currently being considered. They need the residents to support the bill. That said - I give up!
