To have your kids DITCH school in this type of way, you are not sending a message, you are STEALING funds from every child in the district, and teaching your child to manipulate you out of having to go to school.
This is not an appropriate action to take. It only hurts the kids, INCLUDING elementary students. Go to the school Board. Flood the principal with calls, write to the papers, but don't steal from children's education.
If you believe this is teaching your child to stand up for what they believe in, you are actually doing the opposite. You are teaching them to run from the problem, not go to school and refuse to take part, or complain to the principle.
