Doc had not passed in the early 70s - we moved up in '77 RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET - and entertained Doc in our home on several occasions. His dearest friend lived next door to us. We all enjoyed our spot of "tea" - well, it was brown. Try again.

Cathleen - wasn't Darryl Doc's grandson? Great kid - uh, kid - grown man by now. I remember the "satan circle" - what a hoot. Is he around? I thought I remember hearing he moved up north somewhere.

I believe the good doctor passe in the late 80's. I was friends with his son, Russ, and the old Doc lived in a house across the stree from the Castle, if memory serves, this is getting tough.

Does anybody know where Russ is at or what he is doing?

The house was just to the west of the "castle" - but the castle was really nothing more than a gazebo - the grounds were extensive. (The current owner put up a gate to prevent people from walking out there.) The house that Doc lived in was the original house on the property, with a garage just to the east of it, where the current garage/house is located. I think people think there was a "castle" there because of the extensive rock work, but that was all just terracing of gardens, a pool and a patio surrounding the home.

If you want to go way back, to the west of the old house and grounds is an area that has been nothing more than a slide zone for many many years - I think there was a house there at one time, but you'd have to go back 40 years or more. Nothing can be built there, as there is a deep underground stream/well there.

Corey - hadn't heard anything of Russ for 20 years; unfortunately, the last I heard was that law had basically told him to clear off the mountain and don't come back. He did have his share of troubles. He was a nice guy - but.

Yes he is. He lives in New Mexico now. He's a doctor as well.

Resident we are probably the same age I graduated in 1994. We used to freak each other out by going to "the Castle" at night and tell stories. But the stroy we heard growing up was that Dr. A's son became a satan worshiper and burned it down and that is where the satan worshippers woudl go to do their bad things. We would get so freaked out.

I am so glad someone mentioned Roland Maynerd I had forgotten about him. Every day he and his old cronies would be outside of the post office for some conversation on the way in. Can anyone remeber his other friend ended up in a wheel chair... sweatest old man, racking my brain now for name I will bet my mom can remember.

I am also loving this thread. Growing up in Crestline when I did was really awesome. I had an awesome childhood and alot of that was just the enviroment of the Mountain.

Does anybody here remember the shocking, and as of still now, unsolved 1965 Boles Family murder on Jungfrau Drive?

Hey,Cory...Thanks for the info!! I lived on Jungfrau from 1998 until 2007,and heard the horror story from an old-timer on the block...but I couldn't understand how the sheriff never had a clue to solve the murders!!

Does anyone know Leonard Johns, and how is he doing lately?
