I support Arm chair racer's position. It sounds like the path of least resistance..

The leaf rollers aren't near as bad as they've been the last couple of years. On the other hand, subterainian termites are darn near at plague level around here, coming out of holes in the asphalt of my neighbors driveway as are the big ass black bugs that run across the street and make you slam on your brakes because they're the size of squirrel babies. Snake population is up (3 in my yard so far) as are the gophers (Mountain mutated version that will not die but have a lovely tunnel we like to call "The gopher mote" lined with my tulips). Coyote pup population has exploded for some reason as well as the racoon population around here. The Bobcat out back was in my yard drinking from the dogs water bowl a couple weeks ago. I tell ya, we're all doomed! I think it's a sign or signal or something.

Gemini: The arborist came and gave us an estimate: $400 for 4 large Oaks. My hubby thought that was outrageous so we called Home Defenders and they came out today and sprayed the 4 Oaks for $145. They used something called Tengard. Hubby said after the trees were sprayed the worm rain started to fall and it rained worms for about 30 min. Home Defenders said we had already lost some of the leaves but it should stop now. Their phone # is 337-8623. The arborist did say, however Ron, that the worms would eventually harm the tree by a lack of photosynthesis because there are no leaves to do it. End of story.

Mercedes, as I said, not all attacks are that extreme. I've never had all the leaves drop from leaf rollers. Only in the most extreme situations does that happen. The seller of services is describing the worst case scenario. That's no surprise.

Leaf rollers are really destructive and icky! I am so glad we don't have any oaks at this house.
I'll take that back, we have a few baby oaks that the squirrels must have planted.
