The link you posted refers to petroluem distillates, paints , resins, oil, greases...nothing about asbestos. Is there a link to the article to which you refer?

Unfortunately, the "back roads" like Mozumdar and SH138 and many others get used as dumping grounds for jerks too lazy to go to the dump, or too cheap to pay for toxic waste disposal.

I believe this residence which is just below the first downhill curve on the left side was the property discovered to be used as an illegal storage lot for a business in Los Angeles County. When it was discovered it was thoroughly cleaned up at the owners expense along with huge fines. There were drums of toxic chemicals and other illegal debris accumulating over a long period.

I don't recall how it was discovered and reported.

No, I just read the news at the time and checked out the house and grounds around it. I was surprised something like that could be in my neighborhood undetected.
