Chigger, I think your missing one of the central themes of this thread. Not ALL flatlanders behave in these ways, but ONLY flatlanders do.
If you do not exhibit these behaviors then the mountain residents thank you for respecting their communities. It's a special place up here and we don't mind sharing it with people who respect it. Unfortunately, many "flatlanders" view this as a place where the rules of society don't apply because the population isn't as dense and every square inch isn't covered with concrete or a fence.

A flatlander puts on their snow chains in the traffic lane.
A MTN person uses the turnout to put on chains.
A Mtn person knows how to put on chains properly.
A flatlander does not.Let's be fair now... not all flatlanders put their chains on in the traffic lane... Some of them put them on in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

Hey Grinch; Don't invite flatlanders up for the 4th. They're the ones who light bottle rockets and fly them into the dead bark beetle trees....

You gotta be kidding. Lets end this.

Yes, let us end this thread.
There are many of us who are trying hard to bring our Weekend friends back into our community. The Womens Club is putting together a wonderful 4th of July event, and there will be a Classic car show in August. Our new sign is being worked on. I try to keep the website up to date so that our weekend friends and visitors will know what is going on and will come visit.
No matter where you go you will find people who do not take care of the environment and who bend the rules but that does not include all. Please do not let a "few" determine the "all".
I also would like to invite "flatlanders" to come visit and participate in all we have to offer.

Chigger is a troll. He only created this thread to get people worked up for his own enterntainment. The best way to deal with a troll is not to respond to them at all.

The sad thing is that more mountain folks die on the road durning the week than on weekends when flatlanders are here.
Why ? ? ?
they drive to fast, drink and drive and buy their offspring fast cars and teach them how to drive.
Just my personal observation.
