Mitty, If you don't agree with me you are not logical. That shows you the common sense from the left. Open minded they are not.

Thanks Cathleen. I was wondering that too. I was also wondering what I said that could be interpreted as an attack. I guess it is one of those things we will never know.

Maybe it's because they actually DO believe in the Easter Bunny?

Both sides can be stubborn Trojan, but whatever.
I know the truth and the logic.
And I still have an open mind.

FIGHT ON!!

I think it wasn't so much about logic as critical thinking, specifically evaluating sources of information. I believe the criticism is that Mitty should have screened her sources better.

Sabro, I like O"Bama and McCain, time will tell which candidate exceeds. This should be the democrats time to win unless something happens at the democrats convention that will cause them to lose.

Maintaining an open mind does not equate to renouncing well founded positions in favor of those reached by others based on false information or misinterpretation of information. Logic helps winnow the chaff from the kernals of wheat. If you don't know how, you get a bunch of crap that is indistinguishable from the truth. That is what some here seem to expect others to accept, naively and unquestioningly. Confusing of stubborness with firmly held positions based on valid grounds is a basic mistake.

Well, perhaps you recited the correct answers on the exam or in the standard outline paper, and stored it all in short term memory. Or, like language, if you don't use a skill, you can lose facility with it over time. It is like a muscle that, if not exercised regularly, will atrophy.

I took one required philosophy class and it provided me with no skills. I took many classes in the political science curriculum which equipped me with tools I use every day. Taking speech classes and participating if formal debate is helpful as well. The routine exercise in drawing either the pro or con side of an issue at the last minute was the most valuable. Having to be prepared to make either side of the arguement and win the debate is liberating.

Roncpp, You are full of facts even though you may be in your own mind winning the debate does not compute.

Thats why they don't let a particpant be the judge. You beleive what you want and cannot be pursuaded by facts or logic. If everything is an opinion, there are no facts. Your world is very unpredictable with such rules.

Roncpp, With your last post you described yourself perfectly.

From your flawed perception, I guess that is sort of a complement. Were you wagging your hands at me with your thumbs in your ears also?
