Prepared Date/Time 10/30/2006 1049 rvcfire.org: As of 7:00AM on October 30, 2006 the fire is 90% contained. Full containment is expected on 10/30/06 at 6:00PM. Tremendous progress has been made on the containment of the fire over the past two days. The return of onshore flow has increased the relative humidity and lowered temperatures over the fire area. No movement of the fire perimeter occurred last night. Full containment of the fire is expected by 6 p.m. tonight. Significant demobilization of excess resources began yesterday and will continue today. Highway 243 was opened to the public at 10AM from Banning to Poppet Flats. At 6PM Highway 243 will be opened to the public all the way from Poppet Flats to Idyllwild. On Saturday, October 28th at 7:00AM, Highway 79 (Lamb Canyon Rd.) was opened in both directions. Evacuations: The evacuation order has been lifted. We remind you to please be cautious when in the fire area due to safety concerns. There is still a lot of equipment on the road. Please drive carefully and slowly. Evacuation Centers: The evacuation center at Hemet High School on 41701 E. Stetson Avenue in Hemet has been closed. The single evacuee has been moved over to the Beaumont evacuation center. The Fellowship of the Pass Church at 650 Oak Valley Parkway (TB 690 J7) in Beaumont is still open. The church's number is (951) 845-2693x01. If you have any information regarding the cause of this fire please contact the Sheriff's Tip Line at 951-922-7116. For those who are looking for relatives or friends who might have gone to one of the evacuation centers, please call the Riverside Chapter of the American Red Cross at 951-656-4218.

question re the fire thats along the foothills along Cabazon Banning area, it's one ridge line away from hitting homes east of the prison camp; can we take action at the bottom? it's pretty active right now; affirmative to take action; question is if the fire comes down to these homes and is imminent threat, are we allowed to fire out behind the homes? Do you have engines in there with you? affirmative there are engines staged at these homes; take action with the engines and not put more fire on the ground; with the winds and fire activity they may not be a factor; historically it comes down about midslope and hangs up then creeps on down, but with the winds that may be different
