This will be an illegal campfire, 200' away from the Boulder campsite off of 2N10, we'll need a FS engine. Just for info, Big Bear is getting reports of the same thing, smoke above Boulder Bay. 10:28 AM Sat 7/19 Smoke is still there, still building, dying back down and building 10:27 AM Sat 7/19 From: MPN Camp Osito Rancho is operated by the Angeles Girl Scout Council and covers 160-acres at the 7,500-foot elevation 10:25 AM Sat 7/19 From: BB Transcriber Trasncriber Note: Map is approximate; Butler Peak operator is putting it in area of Camp Osito. 2N08 and 2N10 vicinity was location of lightning strike during last week's storms that resulted in a small fire confined to two trees. 10:23 AM Sat 7/19 From: BB Airport frequency Second incoming pilot now reporting smoke to Unicom, giving same general area as first report. 10:19 AM Sat 7/19 From: Pilot inbound to Big Bear airpor To :To Unicom Pilot inbound to BBC airport is reporting to Unicom that there is smoke in the area just east and north of Cedar Lake; smoke is lying down in trees but is clearly visible. (Unicom will relay this report to Desert Comm and Forest Service.) 10:12 AM Sat 7/19 From: FS Butler Peak Butler Peak is reporting smoke visible in the area of Camp Osito; bluish grey in color, builds and then receeds. At one point column was estimated to be 75' in the air, now has receeded again. FS units enroute to area to check.
